Is the CED 1506E the right dispenser for your build?

The CED 1506E is a 6-valve counter-electric — self-contained refrigeration, no external cold plate or ice fill. The CED line includes 4-, 6-, and 8-valve models. Answer 3 questions and we'll route you to the right one.

1. What's the situation?

2. How many flavors do you need on tap?

3. Where will it sit?

4. About how many drinks per day at peak?

2. What dispenser are you replacing?

3. Why are you replacing it?

Don't get caught short

Build the complete 6-valve install in one click

The CED 1506E has its own internal compressor and ice bank — you DON'T need an external cold plate or ice fill. But you still need a CO₂ supply, regulator, carbonator, BIB racks, syrup pumps, water filter, backflow preventer, and tubing. We've pre-specced all of it. Uncheck what you already have.

    Inside the CED 1506E

Self-contained — no ice fill required

The CED 1506E has its own compressor + 30 lb ice bank inside. You just plumb water, CO₂, and syrup in — the dispenser handles the cooling itself. Here's what connects.

    Pre-install checklist

Seven things to confirm before the truck arrives. Saves a return visit.

115V dedicated 15A circuitThe 1/3 HP compressor draws meaningfully more than ice-fed dispensers — a dedicated circuit prevents nuisance trips when other appliances cycle on.
Cold water line, 1/4" min40+ PSI flowing. If under 40, add the booster pump from the bundle.
Floor drain with air gap3/8" line. Code requires the air gap — don't hard-pipe.
CO₂ supply staged20 lb tank fits under most counters. Fill at a local welding/beverage gas supplier.
3" rear clearanceCompressor airflow exits the back. Cramming the unit against a wall causes the compressor to overheat and the ice bank to fall behind during peak service.
Counter footprint~22" wide × ~24" deep. Plan for the 3" rear clearance on top of the counter dimension.
    BIB shelf / under-counter spaceEach BIB rack is ~24" × 12". You'll need 3 racks for 6 valves.
    Common questions

What buyers ask before they pull the trigger

The IBD-H series chills drinks via an external ice bath — you load cube ice into the bin every shift. The CED 1506E has a built-in 1/3 HP compressor and 30 lb internal ice bank that the unit maintains itself. No ice fill, no ice machine connection. Trade-offs: the CED 1506E draws more electricity (compressor running) and has a hard cap on cold-plate capacity (the ice bank takes time to recover during high-volume runs). For standard 6-flavor menus on counter installs without a dedicated ice well, it's the right pick.
Yes — 115V, but use a dedicated 15A circuit. The compressor cycle pulls more current than an ice-fed dispenser, and sharing a circuit with another appliance (microwave, coffee grinder, etc.) leads to nuisance trips during peak. The bundle above doesn't include the receptacle work — that's on your electrician.
No. The CED 1506E is the head unit only. You also need a carbonator (we ship the McCann's Big Mac), CO₂ supply, regulator, syrup pumps (6 of them), BIB racks, and tubing. The bundle above includes all of it pre-specced from Lancer's install guide.
30 lb of ice translates to roughly 150–200 drinks before the compressor needs to recover. For under 500 drinks/day at peak that's plenty. For higher volume, you'll feel the cold plate slow down during sustained surges — that's the point at which stepping up to the CED 2508 (40 lb bank, 1/2 HP compressor) makes sense. Call our techs for a sizing check.
Daily: wipe the cold plate face, nozzles, and drip tray, sanitize valve faces. Weekly: chemical syrup-line cleaning per BIB. Quarterly: change the BEV135 water filter, inspect the backflow preventer, and vacuum the compressor condenser fins (rear of the unit). The condenser cleaning is critical — clogged fins are the #1 cause of CED compressor failures.
No — the CED 1506E chassis is hard-built for 6 valves. If you'll grow past 6 flavors within a year or two, step up to the CED 2508 (8-valve) or CCD-800 (8-valve portion control). Same install pattern, larger ice bank and compressor. Call our techs and we'll quote both side by side.
Lancer factory warranty is 1 year parts and labor on the unit. We stock the CED 1506E — most orders ship same-day if placed before 2pm CT, ground transit 3–5 days to most US zips. International freight available, call for a quote.

    Still unsure? Call the techs.

You're spending $3K+ on a 10-year piece of equipment. A 5-minute call with someone who's installed 200 of these is free, and almost always cheaper than the wrong order.
