The Winco MSS-6.5F is a 6-1/2 inch fine mesh strainer in stainless steel, the smaller variant of Winco's mesh strainer line built for tea, sauce, and fine-particle straining tasks where a full-size chinois is overkill. Standard commercial kitchens stock multiple strainer sizes; the 6.5-inch sits in the middle of the range alongside 3-inch, 4-inch, and 8-inch versions.

When to Use This Size

6.5 inches is appropriate for: tea brewing portion service (over an individual cup or small teapot), straining juice from a fresh-juiced citrus before adding to a cocktail, dusting powdered sugar over a single plate at pickup, separating berry seeds from a small batch of compote. For larger volumes (stocks, batch sauces), step up to an 8-inch or larger chinois.

Mesh Sizing

Fine mesh catches particles down to roughly 0.5mm - finer than a colander, coarser than a true chinois extra-fine. The right choice for general kitchen straining where you want to keep fine pulp out without doing pristine consomme work.

Care

Hand-wash recommended (dishwasher cycle can deform fine wire mesh over time). Hang or rest on the rim when storing; do not stack heavy items on top.
