Product Overview
Breeding/Development: Washington, USA. Bred from Zeus, Nugget, and a number of USDA males. Introduced by the American Dwarf Hop Association in 2003.
Brewing Application: Very high alpha levels make it an unparalleled bittering hop, but Summit is fully dual purpose - Summit excels as early or late additions in hoppy American-style ales, though its unique flavor and aroma can be love it or leave it for some.
Sensory: Heavy and big, displaying signature citrus intensity (especially grapefruit & tangerine). In larger doses it can also have an earthy onion/garlic quality. Harvest conditions help determine the balance between its citrus and onion/garlic character.
To preserve freshness, all BSG HandCraft hops are packaged in nitrogen-flushed, oxygen- and light-barrier foil packages.
Because demand is higher than supply, purchase of this hop is limited to 20, 8 oz packages per month to each retail location. Please call us if you have any questions.
