How the pendulum works

Inside the column is a weighted steel pendulum on a single pivot. When the base meets an uneven surface, the pendulum swings to the low side and loads the foot that would otherwise be floating. The table finds its own level under its own weight — there is no setting to dial in. On the T-Base, a knob lets you lock the mechanism temporarily so the table travels as one rigid piece when you are resetting a floor plan; release it and self-leveling resumes. At 40.25 in, a small floor defect becomes a large wobble at the tabletop, which is exactly where this mechanism earns its keep.
