Maltodextrin is a 100% unfermentable complex carbohydrate used to increase the body, mouthfeel, and head retention of beer without adding sweetness or alcohol. This 8 oz package is ideal for 5-gallon batches. Because it is not consumed by brewer's yeast, it remains in the finished beer to provide a "fuller" perception on the palate. Essential for light-bodied styles that need more substance, or for rounding out the finish of high-gravity stouts and IPAs.

Brewery Usage Tip: Add Maltodextrin directly to the kettle during the last 15 minutes of the boil to ensures it is fully dissolved and sanitized. Typical usage is 4-8 oz per 5-gallon batch. It is particularly effective in low-alcohol or "session" beers where the low grain bill would otherwise result in a thin or watery finish. Store in an airtight container to prevent clumping.
