The Lancer Heavy-Duty Ice Agitator Bar is the internal mechanical rotor responsible for periodically moving the ice within the bin. It prevents cube ice from 'fusing' into a solid mass and ensures that loose ice is always available for the dispensing auger. This heavy-duty version features reinforced welds and a high-torque hub to handle the weight of a full 180-250 lb ice bin.
Problem Solved: This part replaces bent or snapped agitator bars that have been stressed by over-filled bins or mechanical jams. A failed agitator results in 'ice bridging,' where the bin appears full, but no ice reaches the dispenser because it has frozen into a solid block.
Symptoms of Failure: Symptoms include a humming noise from the top of the unit without ice movement, frequent ice jams at the chute, or finding a 'hollow' area in the ice bin where the auger has cleared the bottom but the top layer remains stuck.
