Technician's Note: While brass hex nipples are common, stainless steel is the professional choice for Nitrogen systems because it eliminates the risk of "stress corrosion cracking" that can occur in brass under extreme pressure or in the presence of cleaning chemicals. When installing this 1/4" MPT nipple, always use a high-quality PTFE thread tape or a food-grade anaerobic pipe sealant. Because stainless steel is harder than brass, ensure you have a clean, perpendicular thread start to prevent cross-threading the softer internal threads of a regulator body.
