Overview

The Hoshizaki KMS-2000MLJ is a modular commercial ice machine head that produces up to 1938 pounds of crescent cube ice per day. As a head unit it stacks onto a matching Hoshizaki storage bin (sold separately), letting you size production and storage independently for your space and volume. Hoshizaki's signature crescent cube is dense and slow-melting with a high ice-to-water ratio, so it chills drinks fast, displaces more volume in the glass, and won't water down the pour.

Engineered for continuous duty, it is built around a corrosion-resistant stainless steel evaporator and a remote-cooled refrigeration system running on R404A refrigerant. Hoshizaki's reputation for reliability and long service life makes it a specify-once head for operators who run ice around the clock.

Key Features

  • 1,926-lb. maximum daily ice production
  • 1,850-lb. AHRI-certified daily ice production
  • Crescent cube ice can be used in soft drinks, blended frozen drinks, and bagged operations
  • Ice size: 1 1/8 in. x 1 1/2 in. x 1/2 in.
  • Remotely cooled (condenser is sold separately)
  • CycleSaver uses fewer total cycles to produce the same amount of ice as other units
  • EverCheck™ alert system uses beep patterns to notify operators of malfunctions
  • H-GUARD Plus® antimicrobial inhibits bacterial and mold growth
  • Stainless steel exterior
  • Stainless steel evaporator

Installation & Utility Requirements

  • 30 in. W x 24 in. D x 32.88 in. H

Warranty

Backed by Hoshizaki's 3-year Parts & Labor; 5-year Evaporator Parts & Labor; 5-year Compressor & Condenser Parts warranty.

Service Tech Tip: This unit needs a dedicated 1/2" potable water supply and a floor or indirect drain. The remote condenser is separate - verify refrigerant line-set limits during planning. Add an inline water filter from day one to cut scale and chlorine corrosion, and keep the air filter and condenser coil clean so harvest cycles stay short and the warranty stays intact.

About Hoshizaki

Founded in Japan in 1947, Hoshizaki engineered the country’s first fully automatic ice machine in 1965 and has spent the decades since becoming one of the most trusted names in commercial ice and refrigeration. In the U.S., Hoshizaki has designed and built equipment since 1981 — today across two Georgia manufacturing plants, 1,000+ employees, and 18 North American distribution centers standing behind every unit.

The reputation is built on engineering, not marketing: corrosion-resistant stainless steel evaporators, EverCheck™ onboard diagnostics, and H-Guard Plus antimicrobial protection — backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, repeated ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year recognition, and some of the strongest warranties in the category. It’s why operators who run ice around the clock keep specifying Hoshizaki.
