Recommended for the production of a large range of ales and specially adapted to cask-conditioned ales and fermentation in cylindo- conical tanks. Its rapid rate of fermentation and settling in a grain-based wash make S-04 useful in distillery settings as well.

The story. The brew got stuck and a net search yielded Howdy as the most cost effective source (think shipping for yeast). The order was in the USPS system, apparently Houston for days. Now, it gets hot in South Texas this time of year and I surmise the yeast was exposed to heat for waaaaaaaayy too long and became dead as it did nothing when re-pitched. This is not Howdy's fault, that is solely the USPS- 10 days for First Class (or whatever) to deliver??? Howdy I rate as outstanding, an easy to use site (especially for a cyber dunce) and the follow up was stellar. Two bottoms lines here: I deem all too hot to ship yeast far and fear the brew to be septic tank food soon and Howdy is simply Smashingly First Rate. Good Show Howdy
