Unlike standard black rubber (Buna-N) O-rings that can harden and crack over time, this food-grade silicone version remains flexible and soft, ensuring a 100% airtight seal on your ball or pin lock keg lids. Silicone is more resistant to the chemicals used in brewery sanitation and is better at sealing against older kegs with slightly warped rims.
Seal Pro-Tip: Even with high-quality silicone, always apply a thin film of food-grade lubricant (Keg-Lube) to the O-ring before installation. This allows the gasket to seat perfectly into the keg opening without bunching when you engage the lid lever. If your keg won't seal, try rotating the lid 180 degrees to find the "sweet spot."
