A glycol beer chiller (also called a glycol power pack) is the heart of a long-draw draft beer system. It chills a propylene-glycol and water bath and circulates it alongside the beer lines, holding every pour at serving temperature from the keg cooler to the faucet. The food-grade glycol never touches the beer.

The UBC ChillPro 5500 delivers 5,500 BTU of cooling from a 1/2 HP compressor with single-pump circulation, built for mid- to high-volume commercial long-draw draft systems.

Specifications

  • Cooling capacity: 5,500 BTU
  • Compressor: 1/2 HP
  • Pumps: 1
  • Cooling agent: food-grade propylene glycol

Sizing and setup

As a rule of thumb, plan for roughly 3/4 HP per 100 ft of insulated trunk-line run, adding headroom for high tap counts or hot mechanical rooms. Mix the bath with food-grade propylene glycol and distilled water per the manufacturer manual. Not sure which chiller fits your run length and tap count? Talk to a specialist and we'll size it with you.
