How to choose a bar gun
Post-mix vs. pre-mix. A post-mix gun blends BIB syrup with carbonated or plain water at the nozzle — the lowest cost-per-pour and the standard for high-volume bars. A pre-mix gun runs finished product from pressurized canisters, like a draft system — simpler where syrup and CO2 infrastructure isn’t worth it. Energy-drink guns are purpose-built circuits for branded energy product.
Buttons & circuits. Button count is how many beverages the gun pours; circuits are how many carbonated vs. non-carbonated lines feed it. A typical cocktail bar runs an 8–10 button post-mix with 5–6 carb + 1–2 non-carb. Add juice circuits only if you pour non-carb juices through the gun.
Hose length. Measure the run from the manifold under the bar to where the gun rests in the holster. 36″ suits a tight well; 48–60″ gives reach across a double well or island bar.

Bar gun FAQs
They’re the same device — a handheld multi-button dispenser at the bar. “Soda gun” emphasizes the carbonated soft drinks; “bar gun” is the trade term. Both pour soda, tonic, water, juice, and energy drinks from one nozzle.
Post-mix if you have BIB syrup, water, and CO2 and want the lowest cost-per-pour at volume. Pre-mix if you’d rather run finished product from canisters with minimal infrastructure.
Count the distinct beverages you pour, plus soda and water. Most bars land at 8–10. Go to 12–14 if you pour multiple juices or energy drinks.
