The Watts SD3 is a high-performance atmospheric vent dual check backflow preventer specifically engineered to protect the potable water supply from carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbonated water migration. Constructed from 304 stainless steel, this valve is designed for continuous pressure applications and features an integrated 100-mesh strainer to protect internal components from debris, making it an essential safety component for soda fountains, post-mix systems, and commercial beverage dispensers.
- Inlet Connection: 3/8" Female NPT (FPT)
- Outlet Connection: 3/8" Male Flare (MFL)
- Material: 304 Stainless Steel Body for superior corrosion resistance
- Protection Type: Dual Check with Atmospheric Vent
- Strainer: Integrated 100-mesh stainless steel screen
- Compliance: ASSE 1022 Certified for beverage dispensing equipment
- Max Pressure/Temp: 150 PSI at 130°F (54°C)
Technician's Note: Per ASSE 1022 standards, the SD3 must be installed in a horizontal position with the vent pointing downward. If the vent begins to "weep" or drip consistently, it is an indication that the downstream check valve has failed or is fouled by debris. Always ensure the integrated strainer is checked during quarterly maintenance to prevent pressure drops that can affect the brix ratio in your soda dispensing system.
