Simpsons Crystal Light Malt is a world-class British caramel malt that imparts a beautiful golden-to-light-amber color and complex notes of sweet honey, light toffee, and toasted biscuit. Kilned to approximately 35-45° Lovibond, it provides enhanced body and foam stability while contributing a delicate "malty" sweetness. It is the essential specialty grain for English Pale Ales, Bitters, and Golden Ales, helping to balance hop bitterness with a smooth, lingering richness without being overly heavy.

Brewery Mash Tip: Use Crystal Light at 5-15% of the total grist. Because the sugars are already caramelized inside the kernel, this malt does not require mashing for sugar conversion (it can be steeped), but including it in the main mash ensures the best integration of color and body. It pairs exceptionally well with Fuggle or Golding hops to create a classic British profile. Store in a cool, dry area.
