This food-grade silicone gasket provides the internal seal between the ball and the valve body, ensuring a drip-free operation during mashing and boiling. Over time, heat and brewery chemicals can cause the original gasket to harden or tear; replacing it restores the valve's integrity and prevents wort loss.
Maintenance Tip: Periodically disassemble your ball valve by unscrewing the 2-piece body to clean the internal components. Inspect the silicone gasket for any nicks from hop particles or mineral scale. Lubricate the new gasket with a tiny amount of food-grade silicone grease (Keg Lube) before reassembly to ensure a smooth lever action and a perfect liquid-tight seal.
