Propylene glycol is a non-toxic, food-grade antifreeze, and it never touches the beer.

Sizing & setup

As a rule of thumb, plan for roughly 3/4 HP per 100 ft of insulated trunk-line run, adding headroom for high tap counts or hot mechanical rooms. The 5,100 BTU MMPP4303 suits high-volume bars and multi-tower runs. Fill the bath at a 40% glycol / 60% distilled-water ratio — distilled water keeps impurities out of the thin-plate heat exchanger.
