In a 24-hour cycle, it can produce 470 pounds of ice, but this amount will decrease if ambient air or incoming water temperatures are high. It makes 7⁄8-inch by 7⁄8-inch by 7⁄8-inch dice ice, a type that works well in drinks.

The stainless steel Manitowoc Ice IDT0450A ice maker is clear coated with DuraTech® to prevent dirt and fingerprints from forming on the surface. For a long service life, this unit provides 24-hour diagnostics and preventative maintenance to keep users in the know of the machine's status. Its foodzone—the section that houses components that come in contact with ice and water—is accessible through the front door for cleaning.
