Technician’s Note: Strainers are often overlooked until a safety station fails a flow test. We recommend cleaning the internal mesh screen of the EW-SP509 at least every six months, or more frequently in facilities with older galvanized plumbing. A clean strainer ensures that the eyewash unit meets the required 0.4 GPM minimum flow rate mandated by ANSI standards.
