Why John Guest Push-Fit

John Guest push-fit fittings are the dominant standard in commercial beverage, water filtration, and small-diameter plumbing. Connections are made in seconds without tools or sealants - just push the tubing into the fitting, and the internal collet locks it in place. The seal is rated for full water and CO2 service pressures and lasts decades without leak. The Gray Acetal Color Coding

John Guest color-codes their fittings: white for potable water, gray for general water/beverage applications, black for CO2 and beer gas, brown for fuel/oil. The gray acetal in this part number is appropriate for water filtration and beverage systems but should not be used for CO2 gas lines (use black for CO2).

Cut tubing square with a tubing cutter, insert fully into the fitting until you feel the second resistance point (full insertion), then tug to confirm the collet has engaged. To remove tubing, push the collet inward toward the fitting body while pulling the tubing out. No tools required.
