Briess CBW® Golden Light DME is a 100% pure malt extract made from a blend of 99% Base Malt and 1% Carapils® Malt. At 4 Lovibond, it is the most versatile DME available, providing a clean, malty foundation for any beer style. It is perfect for yeast starters, boosting gravity in all-grain batches, or as the primary base for extract-based IPAs, Pales, and Blondes. Its high fermentability ensures a clean finish and excellent head retention.
Yeast Starter Tip: Use 100g (approx 1/2 cup) of Golden Light DME per 1 Liter of water to achieve a perfect 1.040 gravity starter. This is the ideal sugar concentration to stimulate yeast cell growth without causing osmotic stress. Boil for 10 minutes to sanitize before cooling and pitching your yeast.
