Dingemans Pilsen Malt is the legendary base grain for authentic Belgian Ales, Saisons, and Trappist-style beers. Produced in Belgium from high-quality 2-row summer barley, it is kilned at low temperatures to produce a very pale, straw-colored wort with a delicate, sweet maltiness and light honey notes. It offers excellent extract efficiency and provides the clean, crisp foundation required to let expressive Belgian yeast strains and hops shine.
Belgian Brewing Tip: Dingemans Pilsen is highly modified and performs well with a simple single-infusion mash at 149-152°F (65-67°C). Because of the traditional malting process, a 90-minute boil is recommended to ensure all DMS precursors are driven off, resulting in a clean, professional finish without "cooked corn" off-flavors.
