Cluster is the oldest hop variety grown in the United States, prized for its robust bittering potential and classic "dank" herbal aroma. As a dual-purpose hop, it provides a clean, neutral bitterness when used early in the boil and a pleasant spicy, earthy, and floral character when added late. It is the essential hop for authentic pre-prohibition Lagers and classic American Porters.
Brewery Tip: Cluster is an excellent choice for a "Single Hop" (SMaSH) beer to showcase traditional American hop character. To maximize the spicy/floral aromatics without increasing bitterness, use it as a 15-minute boil addition. Our 1 lb packs are nitrogen-flushed to ensure long-term freshness.
