The Micro Matic BE-A-CQ is a clamp-on beer engine hand pump designed for serving cask-conditioned real ale at proper traditional draw. Pull each 1/4 pint by hand the way English brewers intended, with built-in water cooling that keeps the line chilled between pulls. Built for pub, restaurant, and brewery taproom service where cellar-conditioned beer needs gentle, non-gas-pressurized dispensing.
Why a Beer Engine vs. a Standard Tap
Cask ale is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and conditioned in the cask itself with live yeast. Forcing it through a CO2-pressurized draft line strips the soft natural carbonation that defines the style. A beer engine moves beer by mechanical hand pull, preserving the cask-conditioned character and allowing the sparkler at the spout to develop the signature creamy head.
Installation & Use
The clamp-on base secures to most standard bar tops up to roughly 2" thick, making this a strong fit for pop-ups, beer festivals, and any operation that needs a beer engine without modifying existing bar millwork. The water-cooling jacket connects to a standard cellar cooling loop. Pair with the matching Angram swan-neck spout and tight-cut sparkler for traditional Northern English pour, or a loose sparkler for Southern-style still presentation.
