The Micro Matic N2-GEN-7KPH-MM is a wall-mount nitrogen generator that produces 7 kegs worth of food-grade nitrogen per hour from ambient air, eliminating the recurring cost and delivery hassle of swapping nitrogen cylinders. For any bar pouring more than a couple of nitro stouts or nitro coffees per day, the math favors generation over cylinder rental within the first year.

Cylinder vs. On-Demand Generation

Cylinder nitrogen is cheap to start but expensive to scale: rental fees, delivery charges, swap labor, and the lost-revenue cost when a bar runs out mid-shift. On-demand N2 generation has higher upfront capital but produces nitrogen indefinitely from ambient air and a power feed. The break-even is usually 12-18 months for any bar running multiple nitro lines, and roughly 24 months for lighter use cases.

How PSA / Membrane Generation Works

Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) generators pull in ambient air (about 78% N2, 21% O2, 1% trace), pass it through molecular sieve beds that preferentially trap oxygen, and emit purified nitrogen at the other end. Membrane generators use selective polymer membranes for the same task. Both technologies produce 95-99.5% pure N2, more than sufficient for beverage dispensing (which only needs ~95% to maintain consistent dispense behavior).

Install Notes

Wall mount frees up floor space in a typical bar cellar. Requires standard 115V electric and a dry compressed-air feed (compressor not included). Output ties into your existing N2 manifold with standard regulator and dispensing infrastructure. Annual filter and sieve maintenance is the only recurring service.

Sizing

7 kegs per hour matches typical mid-volume bar nitro programs (1-2 nitro stouts + nitro coffee, with N2/CO2 blends for other taps). For higher-volume operations, see larger BeerBlast units.
