I mounted mine in a Spike 20gal Solo system. Since my basket has a Triclamp fitting, I got an adapter to go from Triclamp to 1/2" npt. Then I attached Camlock fittings to the autosparge. That let's me easily remove the autosparge for cleaning. In this configuration the stock 6" rod seems appropriate. I also ordered the 9" but doubt I will ever use it.Of course, I can simply tell people that my 6" rod is actually 9" inches.
