The Taprite Vented Backflow Preventer is an essential safety device engineered for carbonated beverage dispensing systems. Certified to ASSE 1022 and NSF standards, this dual-check valve with an atmospheric vent is designed to protect the potable water supply from the back-pressure of CO2 and carbonated water. By providing a physical air gap through its 1/4" barb vent, it ensures that even in a check-valve failure, carbonated liquids are exhausted safely rather than migrating back into your facility’s plumbing.

Constructed from high-strength, lead-free materials, this backflow preventer is built to handle the rigorous demands of commercial soda fountains. It features a 3/8" MPT (Male Pipe Thread) inlet and a 3/8" MFL (Male Flare) outlet, making it compatible with standard high-pressure braided hoses and regulator sets. In many regions, installation of an ASSE 1022 device is a mandatory requirement for passing health and fire inspections in any establishment serving carbonated beverages.

Why Compliance Matters: When CO2 gas or carbonated water comes into contact with copper water pipes, it creates a chemical reaction that leaches copper into the water stream, potentially leading to "copper poisoning" for customers.
