The Thunder Group SLMB009 is a 20-quart mirror-finish stainless steel mixing bowl built for commercial-scale prep work. At 18-7/8 inches across and 6 inches deep, it sits in the middle of the commercial bowl size range - large enough for batch salads, bread dough, large marinades, and big batter prep, small enough that one cook can move it without help.

Why Mirror Finish

Mirror-polished stainless looks cleaner on a pass-through prep line and is easier to inspect for residual food after a dishwash cycle. Brushed-finish bowls hide stains and abuse better but show smudges differently - for plate-up stations facing customers (like open-kitchen restaurants), mirror finish reads as more professional.

Curved Lip Design

The slight outward curve on the rim makes pouring batter, dressing, or sauce into smaller containers significantly cleaner - fewer drips down the side of the bowl, less waste on the prep counter. Standard rolled-rim bowls are functional but messy on the pour.

Use and Care

Dishwasher safe in commercial machines. Avoid leaving acidic ingredients (tomato, citrus) in the bowl for extended periods - stainless steel resists corrosion but prolonged acid exposure can dull the mirror finish. Hand-polish with stainless cleaner for show-prep work.
