The science behind the PLAATO Airlock
PLAATO Airlock is the first brewing product that uses the relation between CO2 and fermentation to non-invasively estimate Gravity, Fermentation activity and Alcohol content. By knowing the rate of CO2-release, PLAATO Airlock can estimate the Specific gravity and alcohol content of the brew. Understanding the delicate and yet versatile processes behind brewing is key to unlock its amazing potential, and produce great products with high repeatability, quality and integrity. A complete brewing process consists of several complex biochemical processes, whereas in Plaato, we focus on the fermentation stage.
With the Plaato App you are able to monitor the fermentation of your brew from anywhere in the world. This gives you time for other things and peace of mind knowing everything is going as it should with you brew.

The Sensor Part (D) is completely separated and does not need to be cleaned. If cleaning is necessary due to spill, do not submerge this part, but clean it with a damp cloth.
